American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (Stimulus)
The Economic Stimulus activity resulting from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) presents exceptional opportunities in such critical sectors as energy, healthcare, infrastructure and education. The opportunity is presented to resurrect recently submitted proposals of quality (scored and ranked) and to develop new proposals for a variety of purposes to submit for funding. There is a short turnaround to prepare these proposals, as well as a near-term (generally two years) timeframe to complete the work. Funds must be dispersed by September 30, 2009, toward the goal of moving the economy and stimulating jobs through research.
Opportunities are being presented daily in a wide variety of formats to which we can mount responses, but it is difficult to keep abreast of all of the information. The Economic Stimulus Web Site is being developed and will be maintained as long as it is valuable to help faculty identify opportunities as well as contribute information they may obtain directly in order to benefit the University community at large. The goal is to get as much excellent work out the door as possible to enhance USF's research and education profile. This is truly a unique opportunity that an "unstoppable" university cannot afford to miss. Please contribute your ideas and assistance through the leader of the Development Team. Routine announcements will not be included on this Web Site, as they are available through other mechanisms.
