ARRA-FWS-09-010 Deadline Date: 09/30/2010 The United States Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) is an environmental Federal Agency with offices throughout the United States. Through on-site activities located at a variety of field stations, including wildlife refuges, fish hatcheries, and ecological services offices, individuals or groups will be introduced to natural resource careers through "hands-on" work with, and training by, natural resource professionals employed by the USFWS. The goal is to help develop a new generation of enthused and effective conservationists and ecologists. | DOE Office of Science Graduate Fellowship Program (ARRA, Recovery Act) Deadline Date: 11/30/2009 The Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Science (SC) has established the DOE Office of Science Graduate Fellowship (DOE SCGF) program to provide support for outstanding students to pursue graduate training in basic research in areas of physics, biology, chemistry, mathematics, engineering, computational sciences, and environmental sciences relevant to the Office of Science and to encourage the development of the next generation scientific and technical talent in the U.S.. Fellowships awarded in the first year of the DOE SCGF program will be funded in part by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. |
| NIH Loan Repayment Programs Deadline Date: 12/01/2009 NIH wants to encourage outstanding health professionals to pursue careers in biomedical, behavioral, social, and clinical research. If you commit at least two years to conducting qualified research funded by a domestic nonprofit organization or U.S. federal, state, or local government entity, NIH may repay up to $35,000 of your qualified student loan debt per year, including most undergraduate, graduate, and medical school loans. | Program for Minority Research Training in Psychiatry (PMRTP) Deadline Date: 12/01/2009 The program is designed to increase the number of underrepresented minority men and women in the field of psychiatric research. Research training offers the opportunity to engage in exciting, pioneering scientific investigation across the full array of disciplines, from basic neuroscience, genetics, and pharmacology to the cognitive behavioral, and social sciences, clinical psychiatry, and mental health services research. | East Asia and Pacific Summer Institutes for U.S. Graduate Students (EAPSI) NSF 08-603 Deadline Date: 12/08/2009 The primary goals of EAPSI are to introduce students to East Asia and Pacific science and engineering in the context of a research setting, and to help students initiate scientific relationships that will better enable future collaboration with foreign counterparts.
