The National Endowment for the Arts is interested in projects, regardless of the size or type of applicant organization, that are of national, regional, or field-wide significance; that tour in several states; or that provide an unusual or especially valuable contribution because of geographic location. This includes local projects that can have significant effects within communities or that are likely to serve as models for a field. Grants are available for projects in the following arts disciplines:
dance; design; folk and traditional arts; literature;

| April 1, 2005 | Limited applications accepted. Degree-granting academic institutions of higher learning may participate in no more than two partnership proposals. Such institutions may submit only one partnership proposal as the lead institution. | The goals of the Partnerships for Innovation (PFI) program are to stimulate the transformation of knowledge created by the national research and education enterprise into innovations that create new wealth, build strong local, regional, and national economies, and improve the national well-being; broaden the participation of all types of academic institutions and all citizens in National Science Foundation (NSF) activities to more fully meet the broad workforce needs of the national innovation enterprise; and catalyze or enhance enabling infrastructure necessary to foster and sustain innovation in the long term. |

Only four Phase I proposals per company per solicitation, including parent company, spin-offs, and any subsidiaries, may be submitted. | The mission of the National Science Foundation (NSF) is to promote the progress of science; to advance the national health, prosperity, and welfare; and to secure the national defense. In support of this mission and consistent with the FY 2005 Interagency Research and Development Priorities announced by the Director of the Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP), the NSF SBIR/STTR program will solicit cross-disciplinary proposals to address specific opportunities that enhance the United States of America's security. |
