the USF community may participate in meetings at the direction of the
Chair.
Chair: System Vice
President for Research
Purpose: The USF Research
Management Council provides advice and recommendations to the University
Board of Trustees, President, Vice President for Research, and Executive
Management Council regarding research-related issues and initiatives to
ensure system-wide consistency and efficiency in decision-making and
strategic planning.
Charge: The USF
Research Management Council is charged with providing advice and
recommendations regarding system-wide research policies, procedures and
initiatives that impact the University's Research Program. The
Council will serve as a forum for discussion and an avenue of
communication to the President, Executive Management Council, Board of
Trustees, and Research Council, as appropriate. Areas within the
Scope of this Council include, but are not limited to:
- Strategic planning
- Oversight of
implementation of research policies and procedures
- Centers of Excellence
planning and development
- Research investment
program development an assessment
- Research compliance
mandates and programs
- University system
development in support of research
Meetings: The USF
Research Management Council will meet monthly, with subcommittees or
additional sessions called as needed.
