| Recovery Act Limited Competition: Building Sustainable Community-Linked Infrastructure to Enable Health Science Research (RC4) Deadline Date: 12/11/2009 The NIH has established a new program titled, Building Sustainable Community-Linked Infrastructure to Enable Health Science Research, hereafter called the "Community Infrastructure" grants program. This Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA), supported by funds provided to the NIH under the American Recovery & Reinvestment Act of 2009, Public Law 111-5, solicits applications from U.S. institutions and organizations proposing to support the development, expansion, or reconfiguration of infrastructures needed to facilitate collaboration between academic health centers and community-based organizations for health science research. Such collaboration should transform the way in which health science research is conducted in communities, and accelerate the pace, productivity, dissemination, and implementation of health research; applications that build upon extant collaborative infrastructures supported by other federal agencies are strongly encouraged. |
| R&D on Human Biospecimen Integrity - ST10-1005 (ARRA, Recovery Act) Deadline Date: 12/14/2009 A primary goal of this RFP is to support the development and broad dissemination of biospecimen integrity assessment tools, protocols, and QA/QC measures needed to yield reproducible, high-quality data from research and development efforts that utilize biospecimens. Specifically, it is anticipated that research supported by this RFP will (1) enable greater reproducibility and higher quality data from biospecimens and advance the state of cancer research; and (2) lead to the development and adoption of scientific evidence-based, standardized biospecimen handling procedures and tools for use in research and clinical procedures. |
| Recovery Act Funds for Administrative Supplements
NOT-OD-09-056 Deadline Date: 12/31/2009 The National Institutes of Health (NIH) announces the opportunity for investigators and U.S. institutions and organizations with active NIH research grants to request administrative supplements for the purpose of accelerating the tempo of scientific research on active grants. Support for these supplements will come from funds provided to NIH through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (Recovery Act or ARRA), Public Law 111-5. Consistent with the intent of the Recovery Act, the purpose of this program is to promote job creation and economic development along with accelerating the pace and achievement of scientific research. It is continuous funding. Applications may be submitted throughout FY2009 and FY2010. However, note that some NIH ICs may have specific deadlines for submission of administrative supplements as listed on their own Web sites: http://grants.nih.gov/recovery/ic_supp.html. |
| ROA 2009: C.3 NextGen-Airportal Project (AP1R) (ARRA, Recovery Act) - NNH09ZEA001N-AP1R Deadline Date: 12/01/2009 The NextGen-Airportal Project works in close collaboration with the NextGen-Airspace Project to conduct airspace and Airportal foundational research and discipline-based technology development for the nation. The NextGen-Airportal Project focuses NASA's technical expertise and world-class facilities to enable the highest possible efficiency in the use of gates, taxiways, runways, metroplex airspace, and other Airportal resources. In pursuit of that goal, the project is researching, developing, demonstrating, and validating operational concepts, proof-of-concept systems, algorithms, technologies, tools, and operational procedures designed to maximize capacity and throughput in the Airportal environment while enabling associated elements of the Next Generation Air Transportation System (NextGen) as defined by the Joint Planning and Development Office (JPDO). |

The NextGen Airspace Project will focus NASA's technical expertise and world-class facilities to address the question of where, when, how and the extent to which automation can be applied to moving aircraft safely and efficiently through the National Airspace System (NAS). |

W912HZ09BAA07 Deadline Date: 12/31/2009 The ERDC is seeking proposals under their current Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) that will be awarded as a result of funding under The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) of 2009. The focus of research should be new ways to improve manatee protection and system reliability. 1. Improved physical or electronic systems for culverts a. Maintenance and operational readiness obtainable without the dewatering of the culvert. b. Repairs and upgrades cost and time efficient. 2. Advanced methods of monitoring local manatee movement as well as automated critical proximity alerts. 3. Safe and cost effective methods for manatee movement relocation. 4. Update and repair current systems. 5. Constant remote system status monitoring equipped with automated system failure alerts. |
| DOE Office of Science Graduate Fellowship Program (ARRA, Recovery Act) Deadline Date: 11/30/2009 The Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Science (SC) has established the DOE Office of Science Graduate Fellowship (DOE SCGF) program to provide support for outstanding students to pursue graduate training in basic research in areas of physics, biology, chemistry, mathematics, engineering, computational sciences, and environmental sciences relevant to the Office of Science and to encourage the development of the next generation scientific and technical talent in the U.S.. Fellowships awarded in the first year of the DOE SCGF program will be funded in part by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. |
| Recovery Act - Workforce Training for the Electric Power Sector
DE-FOA-0000152 Deadline Date: 11/30/2009 This FOA supports the development and deployment of Training Program(s), as well as teh actural training of personnel. However, federal funds shall not be used to support construction of training facilities (e.g., building infrastructure). DOE seeks applications that will support and greatly expand job creation and career advancement opportunities within the utility industry and the electric power system equipment manufacturing sector. Job categories include technicians and skilled workers, as well as utility energy efficiency program staff, cyber security experts, transmission planners, and system operators. |
