University of South Florida Board of Trustees
Health Sciences & Research Workgroup

The business of the USF Board of Trustees is conducted through three workgroups composed of Trustees, faculty, university administrators, USF Foundation representatives, and staff. These workgroups focus on attaining institutional goals adopted by the Board.

Workgroups review and recommend policies to enhance University effectiveness and efficiency in attaining these goals and periodically assess the effectiveness of the University in implementing the policies of the governing Board.

The Health Sciences & Research Workgroup reviews and recommends to the Board policies for enhancing the University’s sponsored research portfolio, research integrity and compliance, the research infrastructure; Health Sciences Center management, in particular, clinical practice and hospital affiliations; and university engagement, including community partnerships, outreach, workforce development, and economic development.

Prior to fall 2005, the Health Sciences & Research Workgroup met as three separate workgroups: Health Sciences, Research & Scholarship, and University Engagement; the Health Sciences Workgroup and the Research & Scholarship Workgroup also met annually in a joint meeting
